Dock Warranty Policy & Terms

MO Dock & Deck stands behind the quality of the dock systems we provide and install. Warranty coverage is subject to the terms, limitations, and manufacturer requirements outlined below.

Warranty Coverage

Dock Frame — 15-Year Manufacturer Warranty
The hot-dipped galvanized steel dock frame is covered by a 15-year manufacturer warranty, subject to the manufacturer's warranty terms and exclusions.

Weld failures or cracked welds resulting from a manufacturing or fabrication defect are covered when the failure is not the result of impact, collision, abuse, improper modification, weather-related damage, ice movement, or other outside forces.

Surface discoloration, cosmetic changes, oxidation, or normal weathering of galvanized materials that do not affect structural integrity are not considered structural failures.

Encapsulated Floats — 15-Year Manufacturer Warranty
Eagle 20-inch encapsulated dock floats are covered by a 15-year manufacturer warranty, subject to the manufacturer's warranty terms and conditions.

Damage caused by impact, puncture, improper use, ice, severe weather, water conditions, animals, or other external causes is not covered.

Roof Metal — 20-Year Paint Warranty
Roof metal carries a 20-year manufacturer paint warranty, subject to the roofing manufacturer's specific terms, limitations, approved applications, and environmental exclusions.

This warranty applies to qualifying failures of the factory-applied paint or coating and does not constitute a 20-year warranty against structural damage, dents, scratches, corrosion caused by external damage, hail, wind, falling objects, or other weather-related events.

Concrete Dock Blocks / Tiles — 2-Year Manufacturer Warranty
Concrete dock blocks or tiles are covered by a 2-year manufacturer warranty against qualifying manufacturing defects.

Normal wear, minor surface cracking, chips, discoloration, staining, efflorescence, freeze/thaw effects, impact damage, and damage caused by dock movement or environmental conditions are excluded unless otherwise covered by the manufacturer's written warranty.

Weather, Ice & Acts of Nature

No weather-related damage is covered under the MO Dock & Deck warranty.

This includes, but is not limited to, damage caused by:

  • Ice or shifting ice
  • Wind or storms
  • Tornadoes
  • Flooding
  • High or low water conditions
  • Water-level fluctuations
  • Waves or wakes
  • Lightning
  • Hail
  • Falling trees, limbs, or debris
  • Severe freezing or thawing conditions
  • Other acts of nature

Ice damage to any portion of the dock, roof, floats, anchoring system, ramp, accessories, or shoreline connection is considered an act of nature and is not the responsibility of MO Dock & Deck.

The dock owner is responsible for taking appropriate measures to protect the dock from ice and changing seasonal conditions. Preventative measures may include the use of a de-icer/ice eater, removal or raising of ramps where appropriate, seasonal adjustments, or other protective measures recommended for the site.

Water Level & Site Conditions

MO Dock & Deck is not responsible for damage, accessibility problems, anchoring issues, ramp-angle changes, grounding, or other conditions resulting from fluctuations in water elevation.

The customer is responsible for ensuring the installation site is reasonably prepared and accessible for installation.

Additional labor, equipment, materials, anchoring modifications, or installation work required because of unexpected water depth, soil conditions, underwater obstructions, shoreline conditions, or other site-specific conditions may be billed separately.

Installation & Anchoring

Unless otherwise specified in the proposal, the dock will be delivered, installed, and secured to shore using the anchoring or attachment system selected in the customer's approved proposal.

Warranty coverage does not apply to damage resulting from:

  • Modification of the dock by others
  • Relocation of the dock after installation
  • Improper adjustment or alteration of anchoring
  • Collision with boats, equipment, vehicles, or other objects
  • Overloading or misuse
  • Installation of accessories or structures not approved for the dock
  • Work performed by third parties that damages or alters the dock system

Manufacturer Warranty Administration

Manufacturer warranties are provided by the respective product manufacturers and are subject to their individual warranty terms, exclusions, claim procedures, and determinations.

MO Dock & Deck will reasonably assist the original customer with documentation for a valid manufacturer warranty claim. Final approval, replacement, repair, reimbursement, or denial of a manufacturer warranty claim is determined by the applicable manufacturer.

Unless specifically stated otherwise in writing, manufacturer warranties cover the warranted product or component only. Removal, freight, delivery, equipment, labor, reinstallation, or other costs associated with replacing a manufacturer-warranted component may not be included.

Customer Approvals & Permits

The customer is responsible for obtaining any required approval from:

  • Homeowners Associations
  • Lake or Community Associations
  • Municipalities
  • Governmental authorities
  • Property owners or other governing entities

MO Dock & Deck is not responsible for delays, modifications, removal, relocation, fines, or additional expenses arising from the customer's failure to obtain required approvals unless MO Dock & Deck has specifically agreed in writing to obtain such approval.

Scope of Work

Pricing includes delivery to the project site and installation unless otherwise specified in the accepted proposal.

Concrete work, electrical work, shoreline work, excavation, grading, landscaping, utility work, or other work outside the specifically described scope is not included unless expressly listed in the proposal.

Shipping, manufacturing, and installation dates are estimates and may change because of material availability, manufacturer delays, weather, lake conditions, transportation issues, or other circumstances outside the reasonable control of MO Dock & Deck.

Drawings & Customer Approval

By signing or accepting the proposal, the customer confirms that any attached drawing, rendering, layout, dimensions, selected options, and specifications accurately represent the dock being ordered.

Changes requested after approval may result in additional material, fabrication, delivery, engineering, and labor charges.

Payment

Unless otherwise stated in writing, the remaining contract balance is due within 24 hours of completion of the dock installation.

Warranty Claim Requirements

Warranty concerns should be reported to MO Dock & Deck promptly after discovery and should include photographs and a description of the issue.

MO Dock & Deck may inspect the dock before determining whether an issue appears to qualify for workmanship or manufacturer warranty consideration.

Damage caused by an outside event is not converted into a warranty claim because a weld, frame member, float, roof component, block, or other component subsequently fails.

A cracked or failed weld that occurs under normal intended use and is determined not to have been caused by external damage, impact, modification, weather, ice, or misuse will be considered a covered warranty condition, subject to the applicable warranty period.
